Robinhood Review for investors in Greece: Commission-Free Stock & Options Investing
This is not the Robinhood you know from Reddit and the media — the offering focuses on tokenized, crypto-based derivatives rather than direct stock ownership, and there are definitely better alternatives available for investing.
Consensus Rating
The rating evaluates 42 key factors, from regulation and costs to execution, product offering and support. The score combines analysis from multiple experts and competitor comparisons to provide an aggregated and balanced assessment. This reduces individual bias and offers a more reliable reference for broader market consensus.
Alternative Provider
AvaTrade
A solid option for Greek traders seeking regulated access to European and global markets through a CySEC and CBI-supervised broker. AvaTrade's TradingView integration suits technically focused traders, and AvaProtect's built-in trade insurance is a feature that stands out clearly against most competitors.
Robinhood is widely known as “the broker from Reddit,” gaining global attention during events like the GameStop trading frenzy and becoming synonymous with commission-free investing for retail traders.
Robinhood Europe UAB presents a different proposition from the brand many investors associate with its US offering. Instead of direct access to traditional equities, the platform focuses on tokenized, crypto-based derivatives linked to underlying assets, which changes both how instruments are structured and how investors gain exposure to markets.

Services offered by Robinhood Europe
Robinhood Europe UAB is an entity authorised in Lithuania to provide certain investment and ancillary services related to financial instruments. Its offering focuses on providing access to derivative products on U.S. stocks, crypto derivatives and, in certain cases, money market funds, within a regulated structure designed for retail clients.
Products and services available on the platform
Tokenised U.S. stock derivatives: Robinhood offers derivatives linked to U.S. stocks or ETFs, represented through non-transferable tokens. The client does not own the underlying asset; rather, it holds a cash-settled derivative contract whose value depends on the performance of the reference asset.
Crypto derivatives (perpetual futures): the platform also offers perpetual derivatives on crypto assets. These are complex instruments designed for speculation on the price of specific crypto assets, with risks related to leverage, liquidation, volatility and funding.
Money Market Fund: a fund where the available buying power in the account can be invested. Its main objective is to preserve capital and generate a stable income stream, although it is not risk-free.
Custody, protection and safeguarding
Robinhood maintains custody of certain financial instruments and client funds in accordance with segregation and accounting recordkeeping frameworks. In the case of U.S. stock derivatives, individual accounts are maintained to reflect each client’s positions, and assets must be kept separate from the firm’s own holdings and those of other clients. For crypto derivatives, custody is handled through Bitstamp via an omnibus account opened in Robinhood’s name.
In addition, investor liabilities are covered by a protection scheme of up to EUR 22,000 in the event of an insured case, in accordance with the Lithuanian investor protection framework.
