Qué es una Orden de Venta de Cierre en Ganancias

Al utilizar el tipo de Orden Cierre en Ganancias, se especifica un valor máximo al que la posición operada sobre el instrumento financiero se debe cerrar automáticamente. De esta manera, si un activo financiero sube, el trader puede "proteger los beneficios" estableciendo un límite al alcanzar el nivel de precio especificado. De esto se desprende que esta es una orden de Venta, es decir, el Trader debe primero ejecutar una orden de compra de un instrumento para que esta orden entre en vigencia.

Ejemplo: Un inversor compra acciones a $100 por acción, y utiliza una orden de Cierre en Ganancias para que la posición se cierre cuando el precio alcance $109, es decir, con un 9% de ganancia.

Ventajas y Desventajas de las órdenes para Limitar Ganancias

La mayor ventaja de la orden con límite es que el inversor puede determinar el precio que quiere obtener por la posición invertida. Algunas veces, el Broker incluso completará su pedido a un mejor precio. Por lo general, puede establecer órdenes limitadas para que se ejecuten hasta tres meses después de ingresarlas, lo que significa que no tiene que mirar de manera compulsiva la plataforma de inversión y revisar la posición invertida.

La mayor desventaja es que una orden con límite no garantiza la ejecución de la orden. Si el precio del instrumento nunca alcanza el precio límite, la operación no se ejecutará. Incluso, si el instrumento alcanza el precio del límite, puede que no haya suficiente demanda para completar el pedido.
